Lots to talk about and share so lets get to it…
My pantry—my children get things out of the pantry and then put them back in spots that the item did not previously occupy. So my pantry, despite my daily efforts ends up looking like this
So every couple of months, I have to go in and toss out the stale chips, empty cracker boxes, fossilized gummy fruit snacks, etc. And then it looks like this…
And then I am happy and thrilled with it for about five minutes, until someone opens the door and begins the cycle all over again.
Monkey bread or bubble bread
You need 2 to 3 cans of refrigerated biscuits. Don’t use the frozen ones–trust me they won’t taste as good
1 stick of butter
1/2 C of brown sugar
1/4 C of white sugar
1 tsp of cinnamon
1 tsp of nutmeg
nuts are optional
Cut each biscuit into quarters. Mix sugars, cinnamon, and nutmeg together in a bowl then roll each biscuit quarter in the sugar mix. Place 6 pats of butter in the bottom of the bundt pan. Begin laying in biscuit pieces. when you have about half of the biscuits in the pan, add another layer of butter pats. Add remaining biscuit pieces to pan and then sprinkle remaining sugar mixture over the top. If you are going to add the nuts put them in the middle layer to prevent them from burning. Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes or untill biscuits in center are cooked. Once out of the oven, invert immediately on to serving platter. Scoop any remaining sugar glaze from pan and put on top of bread. I added a little glaze on top but it is not necessary.
Tie dyed cupcakes
We made these for C’s birthday. Mix up a white cake mix (I usually add a cup of sour cream into mine for added richness). Divide the batter into three bowls. tint each bowl a different color. If you have the food color used for cake decorating you will get much brighter, vibrant colors. If you have the standard 4 little squeeze bottles food coloring, you may need to add more to get the color you want. We used orange, green and purple since his birthday is close to Halloween. I was out of cake decorating color so I used the squeezy stuff and I used ALOT becuase I really wanted it as bright as I could get it. Line your cupcake pan with cupcake papers and then add spoonfuls of the different colors into each cup. DO NOT mix the colors together. Bake as directed on box, cool and frost.
