It’s a good thing that I don’t work for the post office

You know that post office motto “neither rain, nor sleet, nor cold,” etc. etc.  Well, it is a really good thing that I don’t work for the post office because I am easily deterred.  I have not worked out for the last two weeks.  Between sick kids, and errands, and helping to set up the book fair at the elementary school I just haven’t been able to get to the gym.  But the truth is that I PROBABLY could have gone a couple of times over the last two weeks.  And this is where the easily deterred comes in to play.  If it is cold, raining, windy, too much traffic, whatever—I will talk myself out of going.  Because really, I don’t like exercising.  I like it when I am done, I like being finished–but the going and the doing—not so much.

And not only am I easily deterred but I am also easily bored.  So, while some people can run 10 miles on the treadmill and be completely engaged in that, I am ready to jump off after a mile. And since I have told you that I am easily bored and distracted you will understand my sudden change in topic:

The Oscars—-What the heck was up with Angelina Jolie and the leg?  And how does Victoria Beckham manage to look and stand EXACTLY the same in EVERY picture taken of her?  And, I think I have said this before, but I don’t like entertainment that doesn’t talk.  I would never see the Artist because it is a silent movie. What is the point?  I don’t like silent movies, I don’t like mimes, I don’t like cartoons like the Pink Panther and Roadrunner.  I like dialogue!  In fact, to be honest, I can probably count on one hand the number of Oscar winning films that I have seen and LIKED.  But I have lost count of the number of Oscar winning films that I have started watching and turned off because they bored me.  The only interesting part of the Oscars to me is the clothes.

And that’s all I’ve got this evening.  I’m off to peruse the internet–I can’t tell you what I’m shopping for yet.  Look for an update in a couple of weeks…..oooooo a mystery.

Blessings friends,
Tracey

  1. That's the reason why no one watches the Oscars anymore – because they keep choosing weird, boring films that no one wants to watch. I thought I was just culturally illiterate, but maybe it's not me, it's them.Visiting from TALU.
